I had a funny thought today...
"I'm so tired of men."
This is funny because I adore a lot of wonderful men who fill my life with grace and strength.
But my shelves--my word!--my shelves are heavy, heavy with male thoughts.
Where are all the feminine voices?
Some are here already, present and accounted for, singing out their lovely songs...
Dillard, Day, Lamott, Oliver, Kidd.
And, of course, you, Ms. Madeleine.
But, oh, there must be so many others.
Wake up, dear ones, wake up!
We need you all so very much.

Funny you should say this, Lisa. I was just reflecting on last week in Washington DC at the National Prayer Breakfast, and I remember more ideas/thoughts from women than men. From Carol Houston, Lakita Wright, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Skinner, and others ... all who spoke into my life in a big way. Even Peggy Campolo (Tony's wife) privately said something that was more important to me than anything her husband said from the podium!
Amen. Amen. Amen.
amen...
from me also.
Hehe - Alana Wiens and I are scheming about how to encourage such things at the mo. Love to chat at the Council meeting :)
Carla beat me to it. :) Let's also encourage the young women to be writing (don't leave it all on the blogs girls!).
Can't wait to catch up while you're in Guildford.
Timely words for me Lisa, thanks for giving them voice :O)
I also think that women are off busy doing the things of jesus, and not spending time talking and writing about it. :-)
Thanks to all for the feedback. Carla and Alana, I look forward to your company soon.
I like that Jesse boy! He's smart!
Thanks for this encouragement! Very timely for me too. (I'm Ruth Morrison's daughter in case you're wondering!)
Hello Bethany! Don't stop writing! :-)
You want www.sophianetwork.org.uk
- great gathering point for women in Christian youth ministry, discussing issues, connecting women, celebrating women in positions of influence, etc. Great stuff.
Thank you Lisa for the call to action. I am "meeting" you through Christine and Samantha at Solana Beach Pres in CA. Your activating call to arms inspires me for today as write about our experience raising a son with autism and the lessons God has for us through that. Blessings to you and yours,
andrea
