Thoughts for Advent: Day Six

A Poem for Day Six

It had been quiet
for a very long time

The people
once a strong nation
held on

In the silent dark
rumors grew
Speculations concerning
the manner of their rescue

It would be grand
Military might
with conclusive results

Messiah would
most definitely
appear
as they imagined
him
His arrival
unmistakable

And all
would be well
Clearly, concretely
definitively well

How we love
to tell you
how to do
your work
To prescribe
the details
one
by
one

Emmanuel
Son of David
I want to learn
to know you in
the unexpected

To allow
no, invite
To embrace that you
will meet my longings
as you will

Thank you, Alisa. I'm glad you're enjoying them. I am enjoying rising early and waiting to see what poem will appear :) I like Adventing (new word?) this way. And it makes me happy if the poems assist any one else along the way. xo
