The Trek aka All Boys Safely Home (Updated)

The boys arrived home safely on Saturday evening and now it's time for a little photo log of their 16 days. They walked 93 miles but completed a 368 mile circuit when you include the public transportation they used.

On trail

In camp

The soda flats of the desert

Looking back over a section of the desert they crossed

Up in Loita

Loita again

And home :-)

They have some great stories... But those are theirs to tell.

I wish I was there to hear all of the stories! I am sure there is much excitement and buzzing around your kitchen table...and laughter! What an awesome journey for these guys! I can't wait to see the rest of the pics too, as I know there were a few photographers in that trek!

What a fantastic walking safari! I am sure they had a wonderful time and will tell the stories for years and years to come!

so are we going to have some guest bloggers or what?

WOW. Just the thought of being able to go on an adventure like that blows my mind. So cool. I'm a little jealous (I'll repent later tonight). Oh, who am I kidding?...I'd probably be too chicken to go anyway. I'll just live vicariously through those adventurous (and brave!) boys.
I hope you'll send a link to their stories if they post somewhere.

Yes please, guest bloggers.

Good book choices, too, Lisa:)

If I could catch those boys and make them blog it, I would. I suspect we may at least get a little video out of Trevor about it. Other than that, you'll probably have to buy them a coffee some where and get them talking.

In the mean time, I have devised for you a little multiple choice to help you imagine their adventures.

On their trek, the boys...

1. Met a few snakes
2. Dealt with stubborn and rebellious camels
3. Encountered large predators at close range
4. Slept 25 feet off the ground in hammocks
5. Came up with interesting first aid techniques
6. All of the above

(Hint: the correct answer is #6.)

Thanks for that and letting me live a little vicariously through my nephews and their friends. You sit behind a desk for too many years and need a reminder of the world outside a climate controlled building. Way to go guys!

Heard a tid bit from Nelly...a little too close to that leopard, I would say! Amazing trip for them!! :)

You are a brave mama, Lisa. A praying one, for sure!!
